The spine collection was the second collection of Chaos atelier and was made in collaboration with Lars Marcoen. The spine collection is a result of our strong interest in the human body. We believe that the human body is increasingly becoming a platform for technology and we like to include this into our designs. The Spine Collection is built around the spine. It all started with using a piece (bead) of the spine for a school project and we quickly got a lot of ideas for different creative & fashionable executions. We started exploring snake spines and we used it to develop our 3D file. To use it as an accessory we chose to cast it in aluminium. All the production/casting happens in the Netherlands. We want to keep everything as local and sustainable as possible. We chose aluminum because it is light, rustproof and durable. These products can be found at chaosatelier.bigcartel.com.
